This role falls into the category of requiring a DBS check (standard).* About the role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist to join the Pathology TDL Cleveland Clinic as bank night staff. Unfortunately this is not a training role and experienced band 6 BMS staff only will be considered. This strategically located laboratory is located a few minutes’ walk from Victoria station and is surrounded by a host of London’s land marks and close to many exciting bars, restaurants and shopping areas. The laboratory provides a 24-hour service and has a multi-discipline repertoire, which would appeal to specialist staff who have experience in several disciplines, Blood Transfusion experience is essential. This position is for bank cover of night shifts, with regular rostered Saturday night shifts and cover of other night shifts as required. The laboratory is based within Cleveland Clinic, a prestigious American private hospital that is the first of its kind within the UK. The services offered are still expanding, having been open for just over three years now, and there are regular advancements of clinical procedures and equipment. The hospital has 29 ITU beds 8 Theatres plus Cath Labs/ Interventional Radiology and Endoscopy, serving both inpatients and outpatients. The successful candidate will participate in the routine processing of all pathology (Haematology, Biochemistry, Transfusion) specimens and issue of blood components with the support of an MLA, to ensure a smooth workflow, and ensure that for each sample the appropriate requested investigations are performed in a timely manner and to ensure that specialised and urgent specimens are appropriately dealt with.
