The Role
We're looking for a Level 2 Service Desk Engineer to join our team full-time, working on-site with a key client in Auckland. This role may also require occasional travel to other client sites.
As the primary on-site technical resource, you'll provide advanced support across desktop, server, networking and Microsoft environments while taking ownership of more complex issues and assisting with infrastructure upgrades, deployments and project work.
In This Role, You'll
- Provide proactive and reactive IT support across the client's environment
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, server, networking and Microsoft 365 issues
- Support Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure and virtualised environments
- Monitor, maintain and optimise systems to ensure maximum uptime and performance
- Manage incidents through to resolution, keeping users informed throughout
- Accurately maintain tickets, documentation and time records
- Deliver on-site project work including hardware deployments, infrastructure upgrades, user onboarding and technology rollouts
- Collaborate with project teams, account managers and technical specialists to deliver successful outcomes
- Act as the on-site technical escalation point for more complex issues
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, documentation and knowledge sharing
About You
You'll thrive in this role if you:
- Have 3-5+ years' experience supporting client environments, ideally within an MSP
- Enjoy working directly with users and building trusted client relationships
- Take ownership of technical issues and see them through to resolution
- Are proactive, organised and solutions-focused
- Enjoy balancing day-to-day support with project delivery
- Have excellent communication skills and a strong customer-first approach
Strong Hands-on Experience With
- Windows Server environments
- Microsoft 365 administration and support
- Active Directory, Group Policy and user management
- Networking technologies, including switching, routing and firewalls
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions
- VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualisation
- Desktop, laptop and endpoint support
Highly Regarded
- Microsoft Azure
- PowerShell scripting
- Endpoint management and MDM platforms
- Cybersecurity technologies and best practices
- IP Telephony and unified communications solutions
