We're looking for a Graduate Engineer to join our Pavement Construction team. You'll support the delivery of civil construction projects, assist with quality and operational activities, and gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced crews and engineers. Your work will help us deliver safe, high-quality infrastructure that connects and supports our communities.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Civil Engineering graduate to kick-start their career in the construction industry. Working across both site and office environments, you'll support project delivery while developing practical engineering skills through hands-on experience. You'll work closely with Site Engineers, Project Engineers, Supervisors, and operational teams, contributing to projects that are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of pavement construction projects and departmental works.
  • Assist with site set-up, project planning, and operational coordination.
  • Complete quality assurance and quality control checks across project activities.
  • Support subcontractor coordination and project documentation management.
  • Work alongside construction crews to gain practical, hands-on industry experience.
  • Contribute to maintaining Fulton Hogan's strong safety, environmental, and quality standards.

  • A Bachelor of Civil Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • A strong commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • The ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Reliability, initiative, and pride in producing quality work.
