We are seeking a motivated and practical Technical Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong technical, quality, and compliance skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment. T he Technical Officer plays a key role in supporting food safety, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site. You will work closely with production teams, quality staff, and management to ensure our products meet customer, regulatory, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Monitor and verify food safety, quality, and compliance systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections, audits, and product assessments.
  • Assist with maintaining HACCP, Risk Management Programmes (RMP), and quality management systems.
  • Investigate quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformances.
  • Support microbiological and chemical sampling programmes.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate technical and compliance records.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, auditors, and customers as required.
  • Deliver technical training and support to operational staff.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and process optimisation projects.
  • Assist with environmental and animal welfare compliance requirements.

You Will Ideally Bring

  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing, meat processing, or primary industry environment (preferred).
  • Audit qualification (internal auditor course to unit standards 8084, 8086).
  • Sound knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other business systems.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Shift Pattern

Usual hours of work are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 8:00am and 5:00pm.

During the Bobby Calf season (July to October), you will work on a rotating roster between 8:00am–5:00pm and 11:00am–7:30pm shifts.
