We are looking for Cook for a busy Restaurant in Wellington
Region. Great opportunity to work with a friendly team in a busy
workplace.
Position Responsibilities
Preparing awesome ethnic meals for our customers.
Responsible to cook wide range of dishes
Preparing, seasoning, portioning and presenting the dishes as per the
standards.
Prepare the gravies and sauces as per requirement of the week.
Ensure the food is presented and garnished correctlyPresenting dishes as per the requirement of the dish
Ensuring meals are delivered as per the standard to guests all the time.
Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements of customers.
Required to check freshness of food and ingredients
Help up with stock inventory and reporting it to the Chef
To preserve the food and freeze them as required
Maintain the temperatures of cooking equipment’s
Cleaning, maintaining kitchen and follow workplace hygiene procedures and regulations.
Must follow workplace health and safety procedures as per council requirement
Train other kitchen staff whenever required.
Any other tasks assigned by the reporting person or Chef.
Candidate requirements
1 year of cookery work experience in any position or NZQA Level 2qualifi cation
Flexibility to work within a 7-Days a week operation including splitshifts
Willing to work on weekends
Be able to work in a team and take direction from supervisors
Have a can do attitude and good work ethic
Working well under pressure and within the time limit.
Must be able to work independently and work in a small and busy team.
Hourly wage rate - $25 to $26
Hours of work - 30 to 45 hours per week as per the business requirements
Location of work - Lower Hutt, Wellington
