Are you passionate about delivering delicious Asian cuisine to customers? Join our dynamic team as a Cook in Whanganui. This is a full-time position requiring a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week.

As a Cook, your daily tasks will encompass:

  • Inspect food items to ensure they meet quality standards.

  • Monitor and adjust temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment.

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes.

  • Season food during the cooking process for optimal flavour

  • Portion and plate food, adding gravies, sauces, and garnishes as needed.

  • Store food properly in temperature-controlled environments.

  • Prepare meals to accommodate special dietary requirements.

  • Plan menu and estimate food supply needs.

  • Train and mentor kitchen staff and apprentices.

Requirements

  • At least two years of relevant work experience in Asian cuisine.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure setting.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and hygiene.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Flexibility in working shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
