The role/Te mahi

We are seeking two Administrators to join the Faculty of Dentistry: one permanent position and one fixed-term position to cover maternity leave.

As an organised and customer-focused administrator, you will join a team providing essential support to our undergraduate and postgraduate dental programmes and dental hospital services. You will also play an important role in supporting the education of New Zealand's future dental and oral health professionals.

In this varied role, you will provide proactive administrative support and become a trusted point of contact for students, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, responding to a wide range of enquiries via telephone, email, and in person.
  • Supporting academic staff with teaching-related and general administrative activities, including teaching space bookings, diary management, travel arrangements, and the coordination of Faculty and teaching-related events.
  • Providing financial and purchasing administration, including processing transactions, invoices, PCard reconciliations, banking, reimbursements, procurement activities, and related documentation in accordance with University policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate and well-organised administrative filing systems to support efficient and effective service delivery.

About our team/Mō te tīma

Divisional Services and Administration are a team of highly skilled professional staff responsible for delivering an outstanding student and staff experience through high quality, effective service delivery to all the University’s internal and external customers.

As an Administrator in the Faculty of Dentistry, you will be working within a faculty dedicated to teaching and training dentists, dental specialists, oral health therapists and dental technicians, while also providing best-practice dental services to the local community.

We are recruiting for one permanent full-time position (37.5 hours per week) and one full-time fixed-term position through to 30 September 2027. Both positions are based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.

The appointment range for this role is $63,508 to $68,185. Top of Range $73,640.

The Administrator function includes Kaiwhakahaere Tari positions, which support the implementation of our Māori Strategic Framework.
