Urge Coffee & Tea Boutique is a local café and boutique that focuses on good tea and coffee, fresh food, and friendly customer service. We are proud to create a welcoming space for our customers and a supportive working environment for our team. We are now looking for a reliable and experienced Cook to join our friendly café team.

Job Title: Cooks

Location: Hamilton, Waikato

Employment Type: Permanent & Full-time

Days required: Monday to Sunday

Hours per week: A minimum of 30 hours a week guaranteed, a maximum of 40 hours a week

Number of Vacancies: ONE

Key tasks & responsibilities

Prepares, seasons and cooks food.
examining foodstuffs to ensure quality;
regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment;
preparing and cooking food;
seasoning food during cooking;
portioning food, placing it on plates or containers, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes;
storing food in temperature controlled facilities;
preparing food to meet special dietary requirements;
plan menus and estimate food requirements together with other kitchen staff;
train new kitchen staff.

To be right for this role and our organisation, you need:

Relevant qualification (NZ Level 4 or higher) OR at least 2 years experience in a comparable role can substitute the qualification requirement OR a bachelor's degree in any field

Adaptable to change and able to multi-task

Able to work under pressure

Be reliable and responsible

A passion for delivering good experiences to customers
