About the role

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, we are looking for an Assistant Care Manager for this full time, permanent position. You will be responsible for supporting the Nurse Manager and leading the clinical team ensuring clinical excellence is at the forefront of everything we do. Based in Tauranga, The Avenues has a stunning Care facility and a fabulous team environment.

Standard days of work are Monday to Friday - 8.30am to 5pm = 40hrs week.

You will also need to be flexible to cover RN shifts as required and be available to share the "On Call" alternative weekends.

Some of the great things you will be doing include.

• Using your clinical skills to access and identify the needs of our residents to be able to formulate/review individual care plans.
• Develop lasting relationships with our residents and their families/ whanau.
• Support the Nurse Manager to lead and manage a team of registered nurses, ensuring day to day high levels of clinical delivery. Ensuring clinical compliance meets auditing requirements.
• Supporting, identifying, and upskilling the needs and requirements of the clinical team.
• Support the 'Clinical On-Call' roster.
• In the absence of the Nurse Manager pick up delegated management & financial duties such approving time & attendance records for Payroll

About you

• Aged care experience with management or advance clinical practice preferred
• Current Annual Practicing certificate and First Aid Certificate.
• Current InterRai certification.
• Up to date knowledge on wound care.
• Demonstrates excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Provide Nursing Practice in a culturally safe manner and supports the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
