What You'll Do

As an Account Manager, you'll partner with our commercial & industrial customers to understand their business, strengthen long-term relationships and identify opportunities that create value for both your customers and Genesis. This is a highly relationship-focused role where your curiosity, commercial mindset and ability to adapt will help you uncover opportunities, solve challenges and deliver an outstanding customer experience.

You Will

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of Commercial & Industrial customers, building trusted, long-term relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to expand customer partnerships through tailored energy solutions and additional products and services.
  • Lead regular customer reviews, understand evolving business needs and deliver solutions that create lasting value.
  • Support new business opportunities and Requests for Proposal (RFPs), working collaboratively to secure new customers and ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Maintain accurate customer information, sales activity and forecasts within CRM systems while contributing to continuous improvement across the team.

Based from either our Auckland or Hamilton office, this role will involve regional travel as required to build and maintain strong customer relationships and support business outcomes.

You'll be someone who enjoys building genuine customer relationships, is naturally curious about how businesses operate, and thrives in a fast-paced commercial environment. You're resilient, adaptable and motivated by delivering great outcomes for your customers and your team.

Ideally, You'll Bring

  • Experience in account management, business development or a commercial customer-facing role.
  • A customer-first mindset with the ability to build credibility and influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Curiosity to understand customer challenges and identify opportunities to add value.
  • Resilience and adaptability, with the ability to manage competing priorities and respond confidently to changing customer needs.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify growth opportunities.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and experience using CRM systems.
  • A full New Zealand driver's licence and the ability to travel regularly throughout the region.
  • Experience within the energy sector is advantageous but not essential.
