Te mahi / The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Software Engineer to join our Enterprise Integration and Automation team in Dunedin.
We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in computer or information science, a passion for software development, and a desire to learn and grow.
In this role, you will:
- Contribute across the full software development lifecycle.
- Develop integrations in a diverse hybrid technology environment.
- Modernise existing integrations using contemporary design patterns.
- Collaborate with technical teams to resolve issues and improve solutions.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Passion for learning and developing effective solutions.
You'll gain broad experience across a complex and diverse technology landscape supporting a wide range of integrated systems.
Kā pūkeka me kā wheako / Skills and Experience
We're seeking a capable software engineer with strong technical skills and a collaborative approach.
Key requirements include:
- Experience with Jitterbit or a similar integration platform (iPaaS).
- Knowledge of integration design principles and best practice.
- Experience with Java, SQL, Python, C# or similar technologies.
- Relevant qualification or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation.
- Passion for learning and developing effective solutions.
While not essential, the following is desirable
- Experience with Quarkus, OpenShift, or container platforms.
- Exposure to event-driven architectures, streaming platforms, or IoT.
- Experience working in large or complex technology environments.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) two-year fixed term position based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.
The appointment range for this role is Digital Specialist Band C - $85,057 to $92,174, Top of Range $97,508.
