Te Tūranga – About The Role
At Foodstuffs, we’re looking for a DevOps Engineer, you'll play a key role in building, supporting and continuously improving the platforms that power our business. You'll be at the heart of our Digital Operations team, designing and improving modern DevOps practices that enable fast, secure and reliable delivery. From building Infrastructure as Code and optimising CI/CD pipelines to automating operational processes and improving platform reliability, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact every day.
Working with cloud technologies, automation tools and modern engineering practices, you'll help ensure our critical platforms remain resilient, secure and always available.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using modern DevSecOps practices to create scalable, secure and resilient platforms.
- Develop, optimise and support CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable deployments and quickly resolving issues that impact delivery.
- Automate operational processes to improve efficiency, consistency and system reliability while reducing manual effort.
- Investigate and resolve complex infrastructure and platform incidents, working collaboratively across engineering teams to restore services and prevent repeat occurrences.
- Contribute to the development of DevSecOps standards, operational documentation and best practices while sharing knowledge and mentoring teammates.
- Help ensure our business-critical platforms remain secure, resilient and available 24x7, supporting the technology that keeps our stores, distribution centres and digital services running every day.

He Kōrero Mōu - About You
- A Bachelor's degree or tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- 3+ years' experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering or similar role.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code and automation.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure, Linux administration and scripting (Bash, Python or similar).
- Experience with tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, Ansible, Maven, Git or equivalent.
- A passion for continuous improvement, automation and building reliable, secure platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex technical challenges.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with experience working in Agile teams.
