Join the Department of Internal Affairs and play a key role in supporting critical digital services that New Zealanders rely on every day.

As a DevOps Engineer you’ll lead the delivery of Azure platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, automation, integration services, and operational reliability for the CCMS platform.

Working in a highly skilled team, you'll design and build Azure-based solutions, develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, implement infrastructure as code, improve observability and monitoring, and provide technical leadership across complex enterprise environments.

We're looking for an experienced DevOps professional with strong Azure engineering expertise, hands-on development skills (C#, Python or similar), and a passion for automation and continuous improvement.

  • Strong Azure platform engineering experience, including cloud-native services, automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience delivering secure, reliable, and highly integrated cloud solutions using modern engineering practices.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver great outcomes.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for mentoring others and sharing knowledge.
