This is a high-impact Treasury Manager role based in our Newmarket offices, responsible for operational execution of Mercury’s treasury function.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Finance & Treasury, you’ll be close to key corporate finance decisions, including funding, refinancing, major investments, financial risk management and capital structure. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, including the CFO, and gain exposure to the Treasury Committee, Audit & Financial Risk Committee and the Board.

Tāu e mahi ai | What you'll be doing:

  • Managing liquidity, cash forecasting, banking relationships and debt facilities
  • Developing and recommending hedging strategies across foreign exchange and interest rate risk
  • Executing approved funding and hedging strategies, including debt capital markets transactions
  • Monitoring market conditions and exposures to support timely, effective treasury decisions
  • Maintaining funding, liquidity, hedging and counterparty credit risk positions in line with policy
  • Building strong relationships with banks, debt investors, credit agencies and advisors
  • Preparing high-quality treasury reporting for senior leaders, committees and the Board

Tā mātou e kimi nei | We are looking for:

You’ll bring strong corporate treasury experience, sound judgement and the confidence to work with senior stakeholders on complex financial matters. You’ll be commercially astute, analytical and comfortable communicating technical topics in a clear and practical way.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Significant corporate treasury experience, ideally 7+ years
  • Experience with debt capital markets transactions
  • Strong knowledge of financial instruments, including swaps, options, futures and related products
  • Experience dealing in financial markets instruments
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence and appropriately challenge
  • Confidence preparing clear reporting and recommendations for senior leaders and governance forums
  • Strong relationship management skills across banks, investors, advisors and internal stakeholders
  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline
  • An understanding of financial modelling and valuation principles would be an advantage
