About the Company

Our client is a well-established New Zealand business currently going through a significant period of organizational change. The finance function is technically strong and well-resourced, with a genuine focus on financial control and reporting discipline throughout the transition.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take on the day-to-day Finance Manager responsibilities during a six-month period of transition. This role ensures continued delivery of accurate financial reporting, compliance, and financial governance while the business consolidates reporting across a multi-entity structure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements under IFRS
  • Lead month-end reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
  • Intercompany eliminations
  • Maintain general ledger integrity, including balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
  • Support tax compliance activities, including IRD return review and liaison with external advisors
  • Manage lease and sublease accounting in accordance with IFRS 16
  • Review capitalization of expenditure, depreciation rates and the fixed asset register
  • Partner with the Financial Controller and Group Finance Manager on technical accounting advice and analysis

Key Skills & Experience Required

  • CA qualified with 5+ years’ senior technical accounting or financial reporting experience
  • Demonstrated experience preparing statutory financial statements under IFRS
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting and tax compliance
  • Experience managing external audit processes and auditor relationships
  • Lease accounting (IFRS 16) experience
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems
