Commercial Finance Business Partner | T&G Global
Finance that's at the heart of commercial decision making.
This isn't a role where you'll spend your days producing reports that disappear into inboxes.
As our Commercial Finance Business Partner, you'll work alongside Sales, Category, Operations and Finance leaders to understand what's driving performance, challenge assumptions, and help shape commercial decisions across one of New Zealand's largest and most dynamic fresh produce businesses.
You'll become the financial owner of our NZ Grower Pools - analysing performance, reconciling complex data, building forecasts and providing the insights that influence decisions affecting both our business and our grower partners across New Zealand and international markets.
It's a role for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes and being the person others rely on when the numbers need to be right.
Why this role is different
Over the next few years we'll be transforming the way Finance operates as part of our S/4HANA programme.
Today, many of our forecasting, reconciliation and reporting processes rely on sophisticated Excel models and manual data preparation. Tomorrow, they'll be automated, streamlined and embedded into our future ERP.
We're looking for someone who enjoys asking "there has to be a better way."
Someone who's naturally curious, embraces new technology, and wants to help redesign finance processes rather than simply inherit them.
If you've ever wanted to leave a business better than you found it, this is a genuine opportunity to do exactly that.
What you'll be doing
You'll partner closely with commercial leaders to:
- Partner closely with commercial leaders to deliver meaningful financial insight across Sales, Category and our NZ Grower Pools.
- Build monthly forecasts and reporting that support better commercial decisions.
- Analyse pricing, costs, margins and market performance to identify risks and opportunities.
- Reconcile complex financial information with absolute accuracy.
- Develop financial models and scenario analysis that help leaders understand trade-offs before decisions are made.
- Support planning, forecasting and month-end reporting.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and improve finance processes as we transition towards S/4HANA.
What we're looking for
Above all, you're:
- Commercially curious, with the confidence to challenge assumptions
- Comfortable working through ambiguity, resilient and self-driven
- Someone who builds strong relationships and enjoys partnering across a business
- Motivated to continuously improve how work gets done
You'll likely bring:
- Around four or more years' experience in commercial finance, management accounting, FP&A or public practice
- A naturally analytical mindset and confidence working with large, complex data sets
- Strong reconciliation skills and the discipline to ensure every number stacks up
- Advanced Excel capability — complex models, power queries, pivot tables and large volumes of data
- Experience with SAP, S/4HANA, Power BI or similar tools is advantageous, but not essential
Why T&G?
Our Apples business is growing, both here in New Zealand and across international markets, and Finance plays a critical role in that growth.
You'll join an experienced, collaborative finance team where you'll have genuine ownership, exposure to senior stakeholders, and the opportunity to influence commercial outcomes, not just report them.
You'll also have the chance to play a key role in one of the biggest finance transformation programmes in the business, helping shape how Finance operates into the future.
If you're looking for a role where your commercial thinking, analytical capability and drive for continuous improvement will genuinely make a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
