The Role
Based at Whangārei Hospital campus, you will play a hands-on role in delivering minor works projects across a regional infrastructure portfolio. This Project Specialist role offers the opportunity to work on smaller, fast-moving initiatives where you can see tangible results quickly.
As part of a close-knit project team, you will work closely with project managers, internal project teams, contractors and consultants to support the planning, coordination and delivery of projects from initiation through to completion.
This is a varied role that offers exposure to all aspects of project delivery. You will coordinate documentation, reporting and governance requirements while working to agreed scope, timeframes and budgets. This includes monitoring progress, managing risks and issues, maintaining accurate project records and systems, and supporting financial tracking.
What you’ll bring
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Bring
- Demonstrated experience in project coordination, ideally within infrastructure, construction, property or healthcare environments
- Strong organisational capability, with experience managing schedules, risks and project documentation
- Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver within agreed timeframes
- Strong working knowledge of MS 365 tools, including Microsoft Project
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in complex or regulated environments will be advantageous
You will be self-motivated, hands-on in your approach and a natural team player, with curiosity and a strong problem-solving mindset.
While primarily based in Whangārei, there will be occasional travel across the region to support projects at satellite sites, including Dargaville, Kerikeri and Kaitaia.
