Team Leader Consents & Compliance, Masterton

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced resource management professional for the Team Leader, Consents and Compliance role based in Masterton. The role will specialise in consenting and compliance however you will have exposure across the resource management spectrum from strategic regulatory frameworks through to enforcement. You'll be joining a supportive culture with people who are passionate about our region. This is a permanent role based in our modern office in Masterton, leading a team of eight.

About the role

As Team Leader, Consenting and Compliance you will support the Council in delivering its responsibilities under the Resource Management Act 1991(RMA) and other relevant legislation. Your core work will include:

  • Leading people and change
  • Work programme planning
  • Provision of specialist advice and services
  • Professional and specialist leadership
  • Partnering with mana whenua and relationships with stakeholders

You will be working with a collaborative leadership team dedicated to supporting our people to thrive while delivering positive outcomes for the environment.

About you

We are looking for someone who has

  • 10+ years' experience in RMA and planning (regional experience preferred)
  • Proven ability to mentor and lead teams through complex consenting and compliance matters
  • Experience supporting teams through legislative change
  • Experience in stakeholder and relationship management
  • Is pragmatic and solution focussed

The remuneration for this position, inclusive of all benefits, is $112,028 to $168,043, with a midpoint of $140,035. Starting remuneration will depend on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
