Caretaker - Grade 2

Join our team as our new Caretaker and play an important role in keeping our school community safe, welcoming and well-maintained.

We are looking for a reliable, hands-on and proactive Caretaker to support the presentation, security and upkeep of our school and hostel facilities. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys variety and likes being part of a community-focused environment.

Working alongside the Property Manager, you will help ensure our buildings, facilities and grounds are maintained to a high standard, with the opportunity to work independently and take ownership of day-to-day tasks. The successful candidate will be practical, trustworthy and confident working autonomously, with the ability to provide support to the Property Manager when required.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 52 weeks per annum, including four weeks' annual leave.

About you

We're looking for someone who is practical, dependable and takes pride in their work. You will also need to be comfortable working in a school environment alongside staff and students.

• A proven track record in building maintenance, carpentry, and or a trade background, and grounds maintenance.
• Physical fitness to perform the demands of the role.
• Attention to detail and ability to use initiative.
• A strong understanding of health and safety practices.
• A willingness to learn new skills, eg, operating a modern wood pellet boiler.

Requirements

• Full NZ driver licence
• NZ residency or citizenship
• Willingness to undergo a police vetting check
