The opportunity

Reporting to the Data & Insights Lead, the Senior Advisor – Performance, Insights & Evaluation plays a pivotal role in helping the Rūnanga understand, measure and communicate its impact.

Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will translate complex data into meaningful insights, reports, dashboards and compelling narratives that support strategic planning, organisational performance and continuous improvement. Acting as the bridge between technical data specialists and end users, you'll help ensure information is accessible, relevant and drives better decision-making across the organisation.

Key areas of focus

  • Develop engaging dashboards, reports and data visualisations.
  • Translate complex data into meaningful insights and recommendations.
  • Support organisational performance reporting and evaluation.
  • Build trusted relationships across teams and with external stakeholders.
  • Improve reporting frameworks, accessibility and evidence-informed decision-making.
  • Champion continuous improvement in how information is communicated and used.

About you

You enjoy turning information into meaningful stories and partnering with people to improve organisational performance and outcomes.

You will likely have:

  • Experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI, Excel or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex information into plain language.
  • Experience communicating insights to operational, leadership and governance audiences.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience supporting performance reporting, evaluation or organisational improvement initiatives.
  • An understanding of, or commitment to, Te Ao Māori and culturally grounded approaches to data and evaluation.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience.
