We have a successful and growing team with branches nationwide, who now need a team member in the Palmerston North region, to grow with them.

This role is looking for energetic and passionate individual with the preference of a hands-on approach to join our team as a Hazmat Consultant.

Primary duties include but not limited to

• Perform asbestos/HAZMAT surveys
• Perform asbestos air monitoring and clearance inspections
• Asbestos register reviews and generation
• Perform methamphetamine testing and reporting
• Develop, implement, and evaluate risk management policies and programs
• Technical reporting of risk mitigation and management strategies
• Perform Occupational Hygiene monitoring under the supervision of Environmental and Occupational Hygiene Manager

Must have the ability to

• Climb ladders and scaffold
• Work with mask and suit on, in small enclosures
• Proficient in using Microsoft word and software/app-based programs
• Be flexible with working hours and weekends occasionally
• Work autonomously in the field and effectively within a team environment
• Regularly travel regionally as required

Desired Qualifications/skills

• 1-5 years of relevant experience as a field technician or similar. Experience with construction would be a plus, but not essential.
• Asbestos Assessor License or equivalent qualifications that would allow you to complete works as a qualified person and obtain a license promptly.
• BOHS IP402, IP404 or International equivalent desirable
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• A tertiary qualification in science would be advantageous
• An understanding of WHS, consulting and risk management
