At Allevia Hospital Ascot in Remuera, we’re hiring a Perioperative Charge Nurse Manager to lead and manage our General/Gynaecology/Plastics (GGP) team. The position is permanent fulltime, working primarily Monday to Friday days.

Reporting to Ascot’s Theatre Manager, you’ll join a stable leadership team of 4 other Charge Managers, and several Theatre Leads. The key focus of this role is to lead the GGP team of around 25 senior RNs and RNFSAs, to ensure that all available resources (people, material and financial) are managed efficiently and effectively; resulting in best clinical outcomes for our patients, exceptional customer service, business growth, and a happy team that includes our Anaesthetists and Surgeons.

Ngā kōrero mōu | About you

  • NZ registration as an RN with a current APC
  • At least 5 years experience scrubbing for General, Gynaecology, Plastics surgeries, with robotics experience desirable (we have a robotics programme)
  • At least 3 years experience leading an Operating Theatre team within NZ or a comparative health system e.g. Australia, UK, Ireland
  • Post graduate qualification in management and/or perioperative practice (desirable)
  • Credible people leader, leading by example to build strong happy teams, where open communication and respect is highly valued
  • Strong judgement, logical problem solving skills, commitment to quality and safety
  • Positive and collaborative energy resulting in win/win relationships with specialists and the wider multidisciplinary team
