Lead sales excellence across Auckland/Northland and Waikato/Bay of Plenty, driving profitable growth for New Zealand’s leading steel solutions provider.

Steel & Tube is a proud New Zealand company with over 70 years of history, supplying everything from roofing and purlins to structural steel and specialist products across infrastructure, construction, engineering, and rural sectors. We’re seeking a senior leader to manage the external sales function, inspire a team of eight Account Managers, and champion our ‘One Company’ culture.

As Northern Regional Sales Manager, you will take full ownership of the region’s sales performance and team leadership. You’ll identify and nurture relationships with the top customers, develop and implement regional growth strategies, and work hand-in-hand with Manufacturing Managers, the National Sales Manager, and cross-functional teams to align Roll Forming products with broader business opportunities. This is a high-impact role focused on profitable revenue growth, margin optimisation, customer delight, and building enduring partnerships while fostering collaboration across our business units. You’ll also play a key part in talent development, coaching Account Managers to excel in sales execution and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of eight Account Managers to exceed sales, margin, and growth targets
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key customers and national merchants
  • Champion a superior customer ethic to create mutually profitable, sustainable partnerships
  • Drive regional sales strategies while contributing to national product and market initiatives
  • Champion our ‘One Company’ approach through strong internal and external collaboration
  • Deliver superior customer service and ensure health, safety, and environmental excellence
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cost control to achieve financial objectives

About You

  • Proven experience successfully leading and growing large sales teams, ideally in steel, manufacturing, or a related industry
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record in sales planning, P&L responsibility, and profitable growth
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills with the ability to motivate teams and build customer relationships
  • Strategic thinker who can translate complex market dynamics into actionable plans
  • Hands-on customer-focused leader with sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards

Why Join Us?

Be part of a stable, respected Kiwi company that’s shaping New Zealand’s infrastructure and built environment. You’ll have the autonomy and support to make a genuine impact in a senior leadership role, backed by a collaborative culture and opportunities for professional growth.
