We're on the lookout for a skilled and experienced professional to join our Gas Operations team and play a critical role in supporting the safe and reliable operation of the Ahuroa Gas Storage Facility.

Reporting to the Manager, Field Operations South this key operational leadership role focuses on maintenance planning, outage delivery, contractor coordination and compliance execution.

You'll be responsible for ensuring maintenance activities are thoroughly planned, appropriately prioritised, and ready for safe and efficient execution. You'll also lead planned outages and statutory shutdowns, helping maintain the integrity and reliability of one of New Zealand's most important energy assets.

In the interesting and varied role you will:

  • Lead end-to-end maintenance planning and work management processes.
  • Develop and maintain integrated maintenance and outage schedules.
  • Coordinate contractors, specialist service providers, materials, tooling and resources.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of planned outages and statutory shutdowns.
  • Support the response and recovery of critical plant and equipment failures.
  • Drive compliance activities, including inspection follow-up and PECPR requirements.
  • Contribute to maintenance strategies, reliability improvement initiatives and asset lifecycle planning.
  • Champion strong health, safety and operational risk management practices.
  • Provide leadership during emergency response situations when required.
  • Foster an inclusive, engaging team culture where everyone feels they belong

Qualifications

He aha tāu e kawe mai (What you will bring)

Along with your relevant qualifications and 5+ years' experience in maintenance planning and/or outage coordination within an industrial, infrastructure, utilities or energy environment. You'll have:

  • Experience managing contractors and coordinating multidisciplinary work programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of CMMS-based maintenance systems.
  • Experience working within permit-to-work and HSE frameworks.
  • Excellent planning, coordination and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of pressure equipment compliance requirements, including PECPR.
  • Exposure to Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) programmes.
  • Experience with turnaround and outage best-practice methodologies.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and maintenance optimisation
