About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi

This is a strategic leadership role at the centre of ACC's health commissioning function. You will lead ACC's pricing and funding strategy, helping to shape major investment and contracting decisions across treatment and rehabilitation services.

You will lead a specialist team responsible for pricing strategy, analysis, methodology, and advice, working closely with commissioning, commercial, finance, analytics, and clinical leaders across ACC. You'll help shape major funding and contracting decisions by bringing together data, market intelligence, cost drivers, and commercial insight.

This role is about more than setting prices. It is about understanding how pricing influences provider behaviour, service access, incentives, and overall system performance - and making decisions that are practical, evidence-based, and aligned to ACC's strategic direction.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Leading pricing reviews and pricing advice across ACC-funded health services.
  • Developing and refining pricing methodologies and frameworks.
  • Assessing cost pressures, utilisation trends, and market dynamics.
  • Supporting commissioning and commercial decisions with robust pricing insight.
  • Identifying and managing pricing and market risk.
  • Building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and sector partners.
  • Leading and developing a high-performing specialist team.

The appointing salary for this role is $117,787 - $152,430 depending on experience, plus an additional 9% superannuation contribution. ACC also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a generous superannuation scheme, optional life and income protection insurance, and flexible working options.

You'll bring a strong mix of pricing expertise, strategic thinking, and commercial judgement. You may have built your experience in pricing, health economics, commissioning, funding, insurance, consulting, the public sector, or another complex environment were investment and pricing decisions influence service delivery outcomes.

You will bring:

  • Significant experience in pricing, funding, costing, commercial strategy, or related analytical leadership roles.
  • Experience developing pricing models, funding approaches, or commercial frameworks in complex or regulated environments.
  • Strong ability to interpret data, cost drivers, and market information and turn them into practical strategic advice.

  • Confidence working through ambiguous, high-stakes issues where there may not be a simple answer.
  • Strong relationship management and influencing skills, including with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven people leadership, including building capability, developing specialist expertise, and fostering a high-performing team culture.
