Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We're looking for a Senior Marketing Advisor to join our Marketing and Content team at NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA).
You’ll work as part of a team whose role is to engage people in road safety through best practice social marketing to achieve long-term, sustainable behaviour change.
In this role you’ll manage a portfolio of marketing campaigns to tackle issues that are contributing to trauma on New Zealand’s roads. You’ll also deliver marketing support for other Government and NZTA priorities.
This is an opportunity to lead evidence-based marketing campaigns that make a real difference. You’ll work collaboratively with internal specialists, external agencies, central and local government partners, to lead integrated campaigns from research through to evaluation. You'll provide trusted marketing advice, develop compelling content, monitor performance, identify opportunities for innovation, and continuously improve campaign effectiveness.
We are seeking to appoint at a salary between $112,000 and $135,000 commensurate with skills and experience.

Ō Pūmanawa | What we're looking for
Our ideal candidate will bring some or all of the following knowledge, experience and skills.
- Experience in the marketing or communications sectors delivering behaviour change campaigns and initiatives. (Social marketing experience is an advantage but not essential).
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to juggle priorities and manage multiple campaigns at different stages of their lifecycle.
- Experience in managing external partners to deliver marketing campaigns (e.g. creative, media, and research agencies).
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and an ability to interact with a wide range of people at all levels both internally and externally to build strong relationships.
- Excellent collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to seek input and ideas to inform approaches and work effectively with others to deliver initiatives.
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently including verbal and written communication and when presenting to groups.
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to make sense of complex data, research, and information from different sources to inform a cohesive approach.
- Excellent initiative and self-leadership to drive performance and continuous improvement in our approach.
- Positive attitude and ability to adapt when circumstances change and to find ways to deliver through challenges.
- Experience managing a budget.
