Workshop Manager
Are you a workshop leader looking for your next challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a Workshop Manager to lead our East Tamaki workshop and play a key role in the continued growth of our New Zealand operations.
This is a pivotal leadership position where you'll be responsible for workshop performance, safety, productivity and quality while developing and supporting a skilled team of technicians. Supported by an experienced leadership team, you'll have the tools, resources and autonomy to make a real impact.
About The Role
As Workshop Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of our workshop, ensuring equipment preparation, repairs and servicing are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.
You'll oversee workflow planning, technician performance, fleet readiness and workshop compliance while maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and customers.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Leading, coaching and developing a team of Workshop Technicians and Apprentices
- Managing workshop productivity, workflow, quality and safety performance
- Coordinating capital preparation of new and used equipment to meet customer delivery expectations
- Overseeing major repairs, fleet maintenance and workshop operational standards
- Driving compliance with company systems, procedures and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
You're a people leader with strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for developing high-performing teams.
You Will Bring
- Strong leadership skills or experience
- Mechanical trade qualification or extensive hands-on mechanical experience
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop technical teams (preferred)
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience within materials handling, heavy equipment, transport, automotive, construction or related industries
