Community Ministries Navigator and Programme Facilitator

We are looking for a Navigator & Programme Facilitator to support and come alongside people, as they seek improved wellness and life outcomes. Offering advocacy, life skills education, service resources and wider community connection in our Community Ministries at The Salvation Army.

The Key Tasks Are To

  • Deliver an empathetic, and responsive service for people, families, and communities
  • To grow confidence in people as they manage important issues in their lives
  • To refer and broker relationship development with internal and external services that support the achievement of a person's goals
  • Promote and facilitate group and individual programmes that deliver identified outcomes
  • Work as part of a dynamic local and regional team

Our ideal person will:

  • Show aroha/compassion, and manaakitanga/care for people
  • Easily build whanaungatanga/authentic relationships with people
  • Have 2 years of case work/facilitation experience
  • Confidently adapt education programmes to be inclusive of different learning styles and capabilities
  • Relate well to people from diverse backgrounds, especially people who have experienced trauma/impactful life events
  • Understanding of, respect for, and ability to work with The Salvation Army's mission, principles, and Christian ethos

Hours of work is part-time 30 hours per week Mon-Fri 9:00 am - 3:30 pm with 1/2 hour unpaid lunch break.

The starting hourly rate for this role will be $38.08. This role is covered by pay equity and the final remuneration will be dependent on the years of experience the preferred candidate brings to the role.
