Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

This is an opportunity to join our Finance Business Partnering team and contribute high quality financial analysis and insight to support operational and strategic decision making across NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA).

Working closely with finance and business leaders, you’ll play a key role in delivering robust reporting, financial modelling and performance analysis. You’ll help build a clear understanding of financial and non-financial drivers, supporting better planning, forecasting and investment decisions.

You’ll also contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting tools and analytical approaches within a complex, high-scale environment.

Ō Pūmanawa | What we're looking for

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have Some Or All Of The Following (but Don’t Worry If You Don’t Tick Every Box)

  • Strong financial analysis and modelling capability, including variance and scenario analysis
  • Experience preparing management reporting, dashboards and performance insights
  • Advanced analytical and systems skills, including Excel and experience with ERP or BI tools
  • Sound understanding of financial controls, data integrity and reporting standards
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach with strong communication skills

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in finance, accounting, economics or similar
  • Progression toward CA (or equivalent) is advantageous but not essential
