Job Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for leading the company's business
development activities by identifying new market opportunities, developing sales and
marketing strategies, strengthening the company's brand presence, and building long-term relationships with clients and business partners. The role works closely with the licensed Financial Advisers to expand the company's client base while ensuring all regulated financial advice is provided only by authorised advisers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development and Sales Strategy
- Develop and implement business development strategies to increase the company's market share.
- Identify new business opportunities within residential and commercial lending markets.
- Develop sales initiatives and referral programmes to maximise client acquisition.
- Monitor business performance against sales targets and recommend improvement strategies.
2. Marketing and Brand Development
- Develop and implement marketing initiatives to promote the company's mortgage and financial service offerings.
- Coordinate digital marketing campaigns, seminars and promotional activities.
- Build brand awareness through community engagement, networking and business partnerships.
- Evaluate marketing performance and recommend improvements to maximise business growth.
3. Client Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Understand clients'; general financing objectives and coordinate initial information gathering.
- Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the engagement process.
- Ensure clients receive a high standard of customer service.
4. Strategic Partnership Development
- Establish and maintain referral relationships with: o Real estate agencies o Property developers o Solicitors o Accountants o Insurance advisers o Mortgage introduces
- Develop partnership initiatives that generate sustainable business opportunities.
5. Business Coordination
- Coordinate with licensed Financial Advisers to ensure efficient client referral and service delivery.
- Assist in organising documentation required for mortgage applications.
- Monitor application progress and liaise with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure all activities comply with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
6. Market Research
- Analyse market trends, lending conditions and competitor activities.
- Prepare business development reports for management.
- Identify emerging market opportunities and customer segments.
- Recommend strategic initiatives based on market analysis.
7. Corporate Image and Reputation
- Develop strategies to strengthen the company's reputation within the financial services industry.
- Represent the company at networking events and industry functions.
- Build positive relationships with customers, referral partners and the wider business community.
- Promote high standards of professionalism and customer service.
Job requirement: applicant must meet following requirement to apply for this job
- Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Business, Economics, Marketing or a related discipline;OR
- At least three years experience in business development, financial services, banking, lending or a related commercial environment.
- Strong understanding of mortgage products, lending processes, and financial regulations.
- Fluency in English is required. Mandarin language skills would be advantageous for communicating.
