Torvo Construction Limited is looking for 2 experienced carpenters to join our team in Auckland. The minimum working hours is 30 hours per week, and the maximum hours is 50 hours per week. Suitable candidates will be offered an hourly rate of $30 to $36, subject to your skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and measurements for carpentry work.

• Measure, cut, assemble and install timber and other building materials using hand and power tools.

• Construct and install timber formwork, wall frames, floor systems and roof framing for new residential buildings.

• Install external cladding, doors, windows, ceilings, skirting, architraves and other internal and external timber building components.

• Carry out renovation and alteration work, including repairing, replacing and rebuilding timber structures and fixtures.

• Construct outdoor timber structures such as decks, pergolas, retaining walls and fencing as required.

• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets project specifications.

• Work with the Site Supervisor and other tradespeople to complete projects safely and on schedule, while maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant should have:

• A minimum of two years relevant work experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Competence in using carpentry hand and power tools.
• Good knowledge of construction methods and health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• flexibility to work during the weekend if required
• no criminal record
