He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

12 months fixed term.

Reporting to the Head of Business Performance, you will take ownership of the existing programme framework and lead the transition and ongoing delivery of the Driving Value programme, ensuring it becomes fully embedded and owned across the business.

You’ll work closely with Finance, operational leaders, and executive stakeholders to:

  • Drive delivery of measurable cost and efficiency outcomes
  • Build a sustainable, business-led model supported by Finance
  • Reduce reliance on external advisors and central programme structures

A key focus of the role is to uplift capability—ensuring Finance Business Partners and business leaders can continue value delivery beyond the life of the contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong delivery momentum across a portfolio of initiatives
  • Ensure value outcomes are credible, measurable, and aligned to financial performance
  • Partner with Finance and operational teams to align initiatives to key cost drivers (e.g. energy, maintenance, chemicals)
  • Provide clear, decision-focused insights to senior leadership and governance forums
  • Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges
  • Coach and uplift Finance Business Partners to identify opportunities and own outcomes
  • Ensure alignment between cost modelling, business cases, and realised value.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience delivering cost optimisation, transformation, or performance improvement programmes
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen
  • Experience embedding programmes into business-as-usual environments
  • Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders and executives
  • Demonstrated success in driving delivery while building capability in others
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present clear, evidence-based insights
  • Experience operating within structured governance environments

Highly Regarded

  • Experience in infrastructure, utilities, or asset-intensive environments
  • Exposure to consulting-led transformation programmes
  • Experience with cost modelling, financial analytics, or value tracking frameworks
