Channel Manager - Route

The Opportunity
Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a Channel Manager to lead the strategy and execution of our Independent Route Retail channel, covering more than 2,600 customers across dairies, fuel retailers and convenience stores throughout New Zealand.
This is a strategic role where you'll own the channel plan from end to end—developing growth strategies, driving new customer acquisition, increasing distribution and delivering profitable sales growth across one of Goodman Fielder's most important channels.
Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and our Field teams, you'll bring commercial plans to life while influencing stakeholders across the business to deliver outstanding customer outcomes.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute the Independent Route Retail channel strategy
- Drive customer acquisition, distribution growth and profitable sales performance
- Create impactful campaigns, activations and commercial initiatives
- Partner with Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain to execute channel plans
- Analyse market trends and customer insights to identify growth opportunities
- Manage forecasting, pricing and channel performance to deliver strong commercial outcomes
- Champion continuous improvement across systems, processes and ways of working
What You Will Bring
- Proven FMCG sales experience, ideally in Channel Management or National Account Management
- Proven experience developing and delivering commercial growth strategies
- Strong understanding of the New Zealand Route Retail or Foodservice market is highly desirable
- Exceptional stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to interpret sales data and identify opportunities
- Confident presenter with excellent communication and planning skills
- Resilient, adaptable and passionate about delivering results
