Sales Specialist - Gastroenterology (GI)

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced medical sales professional, healthcare clinician looking to move into sales, or someone with strong commercial acumen and a passion for building customer relationships in the healthcare sector.

As a Sales Specialist, you will partner with hospitals, clinicians and key stakeholders to promote Olympus GI solutions, drive equipment upgrades and capital sales, and support customers in delivering outstanding patient outcomes.

You will be responsible for achieving sales and gross profit targets while building long-term partnerships with healthcare professionals across your territory.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Develop and grow relationships with existing customers and key decision-makers
  • Drive equipment replacement and upgrade opportunities within assigned accounts
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities across the territory
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of Olympus GI products and their clinical applications
  • Develop territory plans, sales forecasts and prospectpipelines
  • Provide market intelligence, including competitor activity and emerging opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, customer service and fellow sales specialists
  • Coordinate product demonstrations and evaluations
  • Maintain accurate customer records and activity reporting
  • Represent Olympus at conferences, industry events and educational programs
  • Champion Olympus values and contribute positively to team success
  • Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements

What We're Looking For

You'll be successful if you have:

  • Proven success in medical device, healthcare or business-to-business sales.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Confidence in negotiating and managing complex customer conversations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to identify opportunities and drive growth within your territory.
  • A proactive, resilient and results-focused approach, with a passion for achieving goals.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a high-performing team.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences and service excellence.
  • A clinical background in nursing, allied health, medical science or a related healthcare discipline will be highly regarded.
  • Experience working within hospital environments, particularly in gastroenterology, endoscopy, medical devices or healthcare technology, would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the New Zealand healthcare market is desirable.
