Clinical Applications Specialist - New Zealand

GE HealthCare

Remote

Job Description Summary

Are you a clinician ready to take your acute care expertise out of the hospital and into a role with broader reach? GE HealthCare is looking for a Clinical Applications Specialist to join our Patient Care Solutions team in New Zealand. You’ll be Auckland-based, covering the upper North Island down to Gisborne, Lakes & Waikato partnering with hospitals and health systems to implement, train and optimise our Monitoring, Anaesthesia, Cardiology and Maternal Infant Care technology across the region. If you have an acute care background, love to teach and can own a territory, we’d love to hear from you.

Role Purpose

GE HealthCare is seeking a clinical professional ready to step out of the bedside and into a role that multiplies your impact. As a Clinical Applications Specialist - Generalist, you will be the clinical voice across our Monitoring, Anaesthesia, Diagnostic Cardiology and Maternal Infant Care portfolio - partnering with hospitals and health systems across the upper North Island to ensure our technology is implemented well and used to its full potential.

This is a rare opportunity to bring your clinical expertise to a commercially focused environment without leaving the clinical world behind. You will be embedded in patient care conversations every day - just from the other side of the room.

Portfolio Scope

This role supports GE HealthCare's Patient Care Solutions portfolio across:

  • Patient Monitoring
  • Anaesthesia
  • Diagnostic Cardiology
  • Maternal Infant Care

Territory Scope

This role is based in Auckland and covers the upper North Island down to Gisborne, Lakes and Waikato. You will have regular customer site visits, installations and training days across your territory, with overnight stays required for regional travel. You will need to be comfortable owning your own schedule and working autonomously from a home base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical expertise to support sales activity, customer discussions, demonstrations, evaluations and tender responses
  • Lead clinical application training for customers before, during and after implementation
  • Support implementation, configuration, workflow alignment and go-live activities across the assigned territory
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with clinical, operational and technical stakeholders
  • Partner with sales, service and clinical teams to deliver a seamless customer experience
  • Provide ongoing customer support to optimise product use, clinical workflows and customer satisfaction
  • Identify customer needs, risks and opportunities, and escalate issues through appropriate internal channels
  • Maintain accurate records of customer activity, training, feedback and follow-up actions
  • Maintain current clinical and product knowledge across the Patient Care Solutions portfolio
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in line with GE HealthCare quality, compliance, privacy and regulatory requirements

About You

You are a clinically credible, customer-focused professional who thrives in fast-moving environments and gets energy from teaching, problem-solving and building relationships. You are confident engaging with clinicians, comfortable presenting and training, and motivated by helping customers translate technology into better workflows and outcomes.

You enjoy variety, autonomy and partnership. You can manage competing priorities, work independently across a territory, and collaborate effectively with internal teams - without needing to manage by committee.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Clinical qualification in nursing, anaesthesia, cardiac physiology, midwifery, neonatal care or a related clinical field
  • Experience in acute care, perioperative, critical care, emergency, cardiology, maternity, neonatal, NICU, SCBU or similar clinical environments
  • Strong communication, presentation and clinical training skills; confident in front of both clinical and non-clinical audiences
  • High level of organisation and proven ability to manage competing priorities across a territory independently
  • Proactive, self-starting approach with strong ownership of outcomes
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset
  • Full New Zealand driver's licence (essential - you will be on the road regularly across the upper North Island)

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in a clinical education, applications, product specialist or medical technology role
  • Exposure to patient monitoring, anaesthesia, diagnostic cardiology, maternity or neonatal solutions
  • Experience supporting product demonstrations, evaluations or implementation projects
  • Commercial awareness or experience partnering with sales teams
  • Understanding of hospital workflows, clinical governance and healthcare technology adoption
