Our client is a nationwide, established freight and logistics provider operating a multi-site contract logistics network across New Zealand. The business has a strong reputation for delivery performance and is investing further in leadership capability as it grows.

The Role

You will take full accountability for the leadership and performance of a multi-site contract logistics network. You will drive consistent safety, service and operational outcomes while leading a sizeable leadership team and supporting commercial growth through tenders and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end logistics performance across sites (AKL and CHC)
  • Drive consistent achievement of safety, service and operational metrics
  • Own site P&Ls, including cost control and productivity outcomes
  • Inspire and develop a team of logistics leaders, and their teams
  • Optimise labour planning, resourcing and overall work rate
  • Maintain strong, trusted relationships with key customers
  • Support solution design, tenders and RFP processes
  • Drive continuous improvement and embed consistent operational standards

Key Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience leading multi-site contract logistics or 3PL/4PL operations
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise WMS platforms, including system integration
  • Demonstrated ability to lead leaders within a complex, multi-site environment
  • Strong track record delivering service outcomes, cost control and P&L performance
  • Solid commercial and customer experience, including contracts, SLAs and tenders
  • Sound understanding of regulatory, safety and compliance requirements in logistics
  • Tertiary qualification in logistics, supply chain or business preferred, not essential
