Our Project Management team plays a critical role in delivering and supporting a diverse range of projects that help shape Christchurch's future.
Working across a broad portfolio of Council initiatives, the team provides project management expertise, coordination, and governance support to ensure successful delivery of projects that contribute to a city of opportunity for all.
As part of Professional and Technical Services within the City Infrastructure Group, you'll join a collaborative and supportive team focused on continuous improvement, strong stakeholder relationships, and high-quality project outcomes.

This is a varied project coordination role supporting the successful delivery of Council's Capital Projects. You'll work alongside Project Managers and project teams to keep projects organised, on track, and well supported throughout their lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating project activities across multiple projects
- Preparing project status reports, financial reports, and project documentation
- Maintaining schedules, forecasts, risk registers, and project records
- Organising meetings, taking minutes, and managing follow-up actions
- Supporting procurement, contract administration, and financial processes
- Assisting with project governance, reporting, and stakeholder communications
- Contributing to the improvement of project management systems and processes

You're a highly organised and proactive coordinator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach to supporting successful project delivery.
We're looking for someone who brings:
- Experience in a project administration.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience preparing reports and maintaining accurate documentation
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Teams
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
- A continuous improvement mindset and commitment to high-quality outcomes
- A relevant qualification and/or project management experience would be advantageous.

- Hours of work – 37.5–40 hours per week
- Position – Permanent, full-time
- Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street
- Salary – The salary range for this position is $67,635 – $75,150 per annum based on a 40-hour week. Starting salaries will be based on the knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
