Te Tūranga | About the Role

Our Injury Prevention & Recovery Coordinator is responsible for providing first line injury treatment, rehabilitation, and ongoing injury management to our people at site. In this people focused position you will follow best practice to ensure that injured people are rehabilitated as quickly and efficiently as possible; triage injuries or medical events that occur on site; and promote Health & Wellness with the aim of preventing injury and illness.

Your key responsibilities;

  • Attend to all injuries effectively and efficiently in accordance with best practice occupational health practices
  • Support injured people in their injury treatment and recovery journey
  • Administer work-related and non-work-related injury activities
  • Maintain accurate, secure and confidential records
  • Maintain regular communication with Department Leaders and injured persons, keeping them updated about the status of injuries and any requirements

Ōu Pūkenga | About You

Ideally you would have experience in first line treatment and/or injury claims management; and be familiar with the ACC claims process and requirements. You will be able to identify opportunities to reduce the risk of injury in our work environment; maintain regular, streamlined communication with Department Leaders and injured persons to advise them of their obligations and what to expect; and be a strong advocate for health and safety and support in the workplace.

  • An understanding of ACC and the Accredited Employers Programme
  • Able to communicate and develop relationships with people from a range of backgrounds
  • Current First Aid certificate would be beneficial
  • Basic knowledge of physiotherapy/rehabilitation principles would be advantageous but not essential
  • Computer literate and able to maintain accurate, private records of all health matters on site
