Join our friendly and hardworking kitchen team at Peacehaven Village, where you'll play an important part in helping provide nutritious, high-quality meals for our residents.

As a Kitchen Hand, you'll support the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen by assisting with food preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. This is a hands-on role that suits someone who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in keeping things running efficiently behind the scenes.

This is a casual position, offering flexibility and variety. Shifts may be rostered between 5.30am and 10.00pm, seven days a week, and you will be based at Peacehaven Village, Tweed Street.

No previous kitchen experience is required, we're looking for reliable team players with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Ngā kawenga | Key Responsibilities

As our kitchen hand or kitchen assistant you will be responsible for:

  • Washing dishes, cleaning kitchen equipment, and maintaining a tidy kitchen
  • Preparing ingredients and assisting with meal preparation and service.
  • Working collaboratively with cooks and kitchen staff to provide an excellent dining experience for residents
  • Contributing to a positive team culture while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen
  • Following food safety and hygiene standards to ensure safe food handling practices
