Our Opportunity

Attention all engineering students interested in the energy sector! Mercury is currently seeking talented and motivated interns to join our team for the summer from November 2026 to February 2027.

As an engineering intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of engineering projects that will contribute to the development of sustainable energy solutions. This is an opportunity to put your theoretical knowledge into practice.

We are looking for a 2nd to 4th year Chemical Engineering Intern to be based at our Rotorua office. You’ll be working in our Process Engineering & Optimisation team with our experienced engineers and other graduates.

About you

  • An interest in renewable power generation
  • Currently studying an NZQA Engineering degree or equivalent (please provide official transcripts) OR a degree related to the above areas of interest
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The passion, curiosity and enthusiasm to get stuck in and make a real difference
  • A full and clean New Zealand drivers' licence
