Finance Officer

We are working with a well-established not for profit organisation who are on the lookout for an experienced Accounts Payable professional to step into a sole charge position. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of a function and step into a role that offers both breadth and accountability.

This position would suit someone who enjoys working across the full accounts payable function while also adding value through process improvement and stakeholder support.

The role

Responsibilities

In this role, you will report directly to the Finance Manager and take ownership of the full Accounts Payable function within a fully automated environment. The position has a strong emphasis on technical capability and advisory support around the PO system. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Managing the full AP ledger, including credit cards
• Matching purchase orders to invoices and allocating approvals
• Preparing and processing weekly payment runs
• Reconciling vendor statements and customer accounts
• Monitoring and managing the Accounts Payable inbox
• Performing daily banking reconciliations and month-end General Ledger reconciliations
• Supporting the wider finance team as required

About you

To Be Suitable For This Position You Will Be Ideally Have Previous Experience In Accounts Payable As Well As Having a Good Understanding Of GST. You Will Also Ideally Possess Some Of The Below

• Good working knowledge of Excel (vlookups,pivot tables and formulas)
• Strong English communication skills both written and verbal
• Experience in working with a diverse range of people
• The ability to identify problems and provide solutions involving others where appropriate.
