Are you ready to shape safer roads and smarter infrastructure? Downer is seeking a Traffic Management (TTM) Designer to join our high-performing team and deliver innovative traffic solutions across New Zealand.

As a TTM Designer, you will be responsible for the detailed design and submission of Traffic Management Plans, ensuring the successful completion of projects and contract works. You will design traffic controls tailored to specific worksites and activities, assessing risk to both workers and the public.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and submit accurate, compliant TMPs using tools like RapidPlan
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop effective traffic control strategies
  • Maintain TMP documentation, approvals, and ensure plans remain current
  • Support delivery teams to ensure TMPs are executed safely and effectively
  • Help drive a strong safety culture aligned with Zero Harm principles

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

  • TMP Planning Warrant (or equivalent Unit Standards)
  • STMS A/B/C-NP Warrants (or equivalent Unit Standards)
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (or equivalent Unit Standards)
  • Proficient with Traffic Management Design Software (e.g. Rapid Plan, Rapid Path, AutoCAD?
  • Strong knowledge of CoPTTM, NZGTTM, and HSWA
  • Excellent communicator, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams
  • A problem-solver with a strong performance mindset and commitment to safety
