Mō te Tūranga | About the role

We’re looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join our Financial Crime team, supporting the design and delivery of enterprise AML/CTF solutions.

Operating at the intersection of business and technology, you’ll partner with Financial Crime, Product Owners, Engineers, and Architecture to define and deliver scalable Pega solutions. You’ll bring clarity to complex requirements, ensuring outcomes are well-designed, compliant, and ready to deliver in a fast-moving regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Elicit, analyse, and document business and technical requirements for Pega-based solutions
  • Translate business needs into detailed user stories, process models, and functional specifications
  • Partner with engineers and architects to shape solution design and ensure alignment to enterprise standards
  • Support end-to-end delivery across design, build, test, and implementation
  • Ensure solutions meet AML/CTF and Financial Crime regulatory requirements
  • Assess impacts across systems, processes, and data to inform solution decisions
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops and drive stakeholder alignment
  • Support testing activities, including defining acceptance criteria and validating outcomes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of BA practices, standards, and delivery ways of working

You’re a technically strong Business Analyst with experience working across complex platforms, ideally Pega, and enjoy operating in fast-paced, regulated environments.

Must have

  • Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst in enterprise environments
  • Strong Pega (PRPC) or similar BPM/workflow platform experience
  • Knowledge of AML/CTF, Financial Crime, or compliance processes
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments (e.g. Scrum, SAFe)
  • Strong capability in requirements gathering, documentation, and validation
  • Ability to bridge business and technology with clear, structured communication
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills
  • Analytical thinking with a focus on clarity and outcomes
  • A collaborative approach with a focus on delivering value

Nice to have

  • Experience with case management or decisioning platforms
  • Understanding of APIs, data flows, and system integration
  • Exposure to regulatory change in banking or financial services
  • Experience supporting testing or UAT
