Customer Service Manager

GM Cars is seeking an experienced Customer Service Manager to lead the customer service function of our Auckland car yard. Reporting to the Director, this role is responsible for developing and maintaining customer service standards, managing the team members who interact with customers, and overseeing after service to ensure a consistently high standard of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and review policies, programs, and procedures concerning customer relations and the vehicles and services provided
  • Ensure operational efficiency of customer-facing processes across the yard
  • Provide direction and feedback to team members and assist with recruitment of customer service staff
  • Manage, motivate, and develop staff who provide customer service, including Yard Assistants and the Groomer/Detailer where their duties involve customer interaction
  • Plan and implement after-sales service to follow up on customer satisfaction, ensure the performance of vehicles purchased, and modify and improve service standards
  • Liaise with other areas of the business, service agents, and customers to identify and respond to customer expectations
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints and escalations
  • Monitor customer feedback and report findings to the Director to inform business improvements

Requirements

  • Relevant work experience of 2 years or a relevant qualification
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing or coordinating a team in a customer-facing environment preferred

Location & Hours

  • Location: Auckland, New Zealand
  • Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Pay: $33–$40 per hour, reflecting the current New Zealand market rate for this role and region
