GIS Developer

GIS Developer | Contract (6month) | Auckland (Hybrid)

We are on the hunt for an experienced GIS Developer to join a major Auckland-based programme supporting one of New Zealand's largest transport initiatives.

This is an exciting contract opportunity to work on enterprise-scale GIS solutions that underpin critical infrastructure planning, asset management, and operational decision-making.

Working within a collaborative project team, you'll develop and enhance geospatial applications, integrations, and services while partnering with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders.

About The Role

This is a hands-on development role where you'll be responsible for designing, building, and supporting enterprise GIS solutions. Your key responsibilities include:

• Developing and enhancing GIS applications, integrations, and spatial services
• Building solutions using the Esri technology stack, including ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online
• Developing APIs and automating geospatial workflows
• Integrating GIS platforms with enterprise applications and data sources
• Supporting solution design, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimisation
• Working closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes

About You

You'll Be An Experienced GIS Developer With Strong Technical Capability And a Passion For Delivering Robust Geospatial Solutions. You'll Ideally Bring

• Proven commercial experience developing GIS solutions using Esri technologies
• Strong experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Experience Builder and/or Web AppBuilder
• Development experience with Python, JavaScript, ArcPy, REST APIs and web services
• Experience integrating GIS with enterprise platforms and databases
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with spatial databases
• Exposure to Azure or other cloud platforms is highly regarded
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
