Requirements of the position offered

  • In depth knowledge of Sri Lankan cuisine
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant experience cooking Sri Lankan cuisine

Duties of the position offered.

  • Responsible for cooking a variety of Sri Lankan dishes.
  • Presenting dishes to the required standard
  • Prepare, season, and cook food following the required standards.
  • Prepare the gravy and sauce per the business requirements.
  • Examine fresh ingredients and ethnic ingredients for food preparation
  • Assist in developing recipes & presenting the food.
  • Prepare the food as per the special dietary requirements of the customers.
  • Being able to determine an accurate serving size for every customer
  • Regulating temperatures of cooking equipment
  • Store food in right temperatures with the usage of chiller or freezer.
  • Maintain hygiene at all times.
  • Clean and maintain the kitchen in accordance with New Zealand hygiene and safety standard
  • Train other kitchen staff whenever required

  • This is a full time and permanent position
  • Location of work: Wellington region
  • Number of positions: 2x
  • Minimum of 35 hours per week
  • Hourly wage rate will be between $27.76 to $30 dollars
