Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school with a roll of up to 24,000 ākonga (students) at any point of time. We provide personalised and authentic learning programmes through distance education from early childhood to NCEA Level 3, including to young adult and adult learners.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this position:

Are you highly organised, detail-focused, and passionate about supporting people? We are looking for a People and Capability Administrator to work alongside our Payroll Lead, helping to ensure our people are paid accurately and on time. You'll provide essential administrative support and be a trusted first point of contact for pay and leave related queries.

Key responsibilities include

  • Accurately entering and maintaining People and Capability data across multiple systems.
  • Maintain payroll and employee records, ensuring data is accurate, up-to-date, and confidential.
  • Ensure payroll documentation, reports, and records are completed and maintained in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and audit preparation as required.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll and people processes, systems, and practices.
  • Build positive working relationships with managers and employees, providing high quality customer service and advice.
  • Providing general administrative assistance to the People and Capability team.

For this position, we offer a salary range starting from $62,947 to a maximum of $76,433 per annum. The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's unique combination of skills, qualifications, and relevant experience.

This is a great opportunity for a highly organised administrator who is keen to get into Human Resources, or you are just looking for a change in scene. You will have a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills and can keep a cool head when working to deadlines. Experienced in data entry or administration, you are process orientated and are a confident user of Excel.

You will bring:

  • Strong administrative skills with a focus on accuracy and consistency
  • Organisation and time management skills to handle routine tasks and meet deadlines
  • Confidence with data entry and maintaining accurate records
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to work with a range of stakeholders
  • A proactive, can-do attitude
  • Experience in administration
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR/payroll systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the wider team.
