Tour Guide
BUTTERFLY GROUP LIMITED
We are looking for TWO – Tour Guides for our business BUTTERFLY GROUP LIMITED, located at Auckland, New Zealand. This is a Permanent Full-time position for a minimum of 30 hours per week, and hours may be increased depending on workload. The pay rate ranges from $25.00 to $27.00 per hour and can be negotiated for the right candidate.
Job Duties are as follows
- Meet and greet visitors at designated locations in a professional and friendly manner.
- Plan, organize, and conduct guided sightseeing, educational, and cultural tours.
- Accompany visitors on tours and provide informative commentaries, highlighting key points of interest (training will be provided where applicable).
- Answer visitors' questions and provide accurate information regarding tour sites, attractions, and local culture.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of visitors throughout the tour.
- Assist in safeguarding collections, exhibits, and other items of interest during tours.
- Plan and coordinate tour schedules and itineraries to ensure smooth operations.
- Arrange transportation and accommodation for visitors in accordance with planned itineraries.
- Organize and arrange entry to attractions, museums, galleries, and other places of interest.
- Distribute brochures, maps, tour literature, and other informational materials to visitors.
- Deliver audiovisual presentations and explain features, procedures, and safety requirements at tour sites where applicable.
- Assist with the installation and dismantling of exhibits when required.
- Maintain accurate tour records and report any incidents or issues to management.
- Follow all company policies, Health and Safety regulations, and operational procedures.
- Always conduct yourself in a courteous and professional manner.
What we expect from you
- Relevant work experience of at least 3 years is required
- However, A Level 4 qualification (or higher) in Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field might substitute for the work experience requirement.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Friendly and able to work well with people from different backgrounds.
- Good planning and time management skills.
- Able to work weekends, public holidays, and flexible shifts.
- A First Aid Certificate is an advantage but not essential.
- A current New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence (or an equivalent overseas licence) is preferred.
- Must pass a drug test if required.
- Must have no criminal convictions.
