STONZ is seeking a confident and experienced RMO Advisor to advocate for and support Resident Medical Officers (RMOs) across Aotearoa New Zealand.

This is a unique opportunity to also work at a national level, shaping workforce conditions, supporting doctors through complex employment matters, and building strong partnerships with Te Whatu Ora | Health NZ and local districts.

Christchurch (with flexible / remote options)

Full-time (37.5 hrs/week) or part-time for the right person

About the role

As a trusted advisor, you will be the key point of contact for RMOs, providing expert guidance, resolving employment challenges, and contributing to meaningful sector outcomes.

As a small team, you'll be working closely with our support and executive team, you’ll play a critical role in strengthening relationships, influencing change, and delivering real impact for members.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in employment relations, HR, union advocacy, or a similar field
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Highly developed organisational and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of NZ employment law and collective agreements (advantageous)
