V-BROSCOMMS LIMITED provides telecommunications, fibre, data communication, and network installation support services across Auckland. We are seeking motivated Telecommunications Technicians to join our team.
About the Role
The job will involve field work, which is inside and outside of houses, buildings, offices, and installation of the new fibre to home (FTH) and Ultra- Fast Broadband (UFB), for the customer’s requirement of the new high-speed Internet Services and voice over Internet Protocol.
The main duties will be
- Installing telecommunication equipment and Network outlets such as FTP (Fibre Termination Point) and ONT (Optical Network Terminal)
- Connects wires and cables to terminals, attaches/detaches various kinds of hardware to wires and cables and buildings.
- Installing and Configuring modem/router
- Programming ONT (Optical Network Terminal)
- Locating faults if there is any by using instruments such as cable locator and transmission measuring equipment, if any fault is detected then he replace and repair the faulty piece.
- Run test to measure signal strength using test equipment and maintain aerial and underground wires and cables.
- Need to perform Splicing and securing the fibre cables inside equipment’s to make the service live for customers.
- Assesses, read, and implement plan for UFB network layout.
- Remedial work is also there, civil dig, and fix
- Analyse the job plans, examine the drawings, fibre cable laying, blowing, splicing, trenching, digging, trouble shooting, redesign the plan for better positioning and connections for equipment prior to installation for better network security.
- Setting up of Alarm System and Security Camera, when and where required.
Skills and Experience required
- Minimum 2 Years of relevant experience required. However, a Diploma can substitute the relevant work Experience requirement, as detailed training will be provided to the selected candidate detailed training will be provided to the selected candidate.
- Ability to work in a Multicultural Environment. Possess motivational and leadership skills.
- Team player and ability to work competently under pressure.
- Must be able to work across any shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Must be a fit, quick thinker, reliable, trustworthy, and self-motivated.
- Must be able to pass random drug test
- Must have an eye to detail.
- Must have a valid driving licence to drive a car in New Zealand
